Women are diagnosed with Alzheimer's Dementia at double the rate of men. The reason for this phenomenon is not well-understood. Since women are traditionally the caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer's and other dementias, and the rate of Alzheimer's is growing exponentially, this represents a profound public health crisis.
